Episcopal Cathedral Of St. Nicholas Church - Ramnicu Valcea

Valea Oltului, RomaniaCathedral Ramnic present church, dedicated to St. Nicholas "was built on the foundation of the oldest churches: one built between 1576-1586 by Bishop Michael II and demolished by the Turks in 1735, during war which he had with the Austrians, and the second built between 1739-1749 by Bishop Climent and destroyed by a big fire in 1847. The building, as seen today was built by St. Calinic Cernica, Ramnic Bishop (1850-1868).
